First Presbyterian Church Cookbooks

Thanksgiving dinner is at your house this year.  The whole family will be there, even the kids from the east coast.  You know you have to make the family’s favorites, the turkey with dressing, the green bean casserole, the sweet potatoes and apples.  But wouldn’t it be fun to add a few new dishes. You can start looking  through all your cookbooks right now or even browse some of the many recipe sites on the internet.  It can be an overwhelming process.  But hey, why not simplify things by just looking through the 300 recipes in the church’s 125th anniversary cookbook.  After all, they’re the tried and true recipes of your fellow Presbyterians, recipes you may have even enjoyed at church potlucks.  There are recipes for cranberry salads, potato dishes, yeast rolls, and pies to go with your family’s ever favorite pumpkin.  And when family members rave about the new additions to the menu, you can even hand them their own copy of the cookbook as a reminder of Thanksgiving 2008.

Please do use the church cookbook as a source of delicious recipes for your Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.  And of course remember that the book makes a wonderful gift too.  Sales thus far have gone very well.  We’ve sold about 250 books, and selling another 100 will actually pay the total bill for the cookbooks.  Wouldn’t it be fun to be in the black by 2009!!!   Then we can have the fun of actually figuring out where all the profit from the sale of the remaining books will go!!!
