CALL TO WORSHIP
Our Lenten journey has begun. Let us follow the example of Jesus who …
Listened for the voice of God in the wilderness,
Followed the leading of the Holy Spirit
And resisted temptation.
Jesus is the Bread of Life.
Let us feast on him during this Lenten season.
*HYMN “Standing on the Promises” (insert)
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty and Holy God, Lord of history and of our lives, we confess that we sometimes doubt your ability to work in the world, sometimes wonder where you are and sometimes disbelieve that anything good could happen. We are short of hope, tired of doing good and skeptical of miracles. We are in need of forgiveness for wrongs we have done and faithful actions we have forgotten. Amazing God, as we travel through Lent, let our trust deepen in your promises and our eyes be opened to the unexpected signs of your love and grace. God of our lives, ready our hearts and minds to respond to resurrection and grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
