About Us: Our
congregation recently celebrated its 125th anniversary. We
were
organized on 15 January 1882, and incorporated on 16 August 1882.
Twenty-five pastors have served in our church since the beginning,
starting with A.C. McCauley, a student pastor who came from New York in
1884, up to Pastor Jason Cunningham, our current pastor. In our 100th anniversary book, the following was written: "...ours
is a brief history when viewed in a broader chronological perspective.
However, richly blessed with inspired clergy and lay
leadership,
the First United Presbyterian Church has made an impressive beginning.
With God's help, we will continue to serve." |
