Reverend Norlita Kaul, Interim Pastor

Rev. Norlita J. Kaul has come to join us in the Lord’s service on January 15, 2020. Rev. Norlita is a MO girl (from St. Louis, a die-hard Cardinals and Blues fan), and graduate of SEMO State University in Cape Girardeau. Rev. Norlita also studied at UMKC’s Conservatory in Music in Kansas City, with professors Dr. John Ditto and the late Dr. John Obetz in the area of Organ Performance. She served in the field of Church Music for 35 years prior to saying yes to God’s call into the pastoral ministry.
Rev. Norlita completed her M.Div. studies at Ecumenical Theological Seminary (Detroit MI) in 2008. She also completed 4 units of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) while completing her M. Div.
She has served in the PCUSA since 2010 as a Stated Supply Pastor, a Staff Associate Pastor, becoming ordained as a Teaching Elder in the PCUSA in the Heartland Presbytery in 2015 as a solo pastor. Prior to coming to FPC here in Brookings, she has served in several rural and smaller churches.
Rev. Norlita loves to always keep learning, as evidenced by attending Interim Ministry Training through Mid-America Lincoln Trails (MALT), Summer Pastor’s School through Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation (OPSF). She’s also attended Stewardship Kaleidoscope and other conferences related to the field of pastoral ministry.
She enjoys growing flowers, reading, working on family history/ancestry or going camping with family. She still enjoys being involved musically whenever and wherever possible. She’s looking forward to what the future has in store here at First PC!
