SHARE THE WARMTH: Today is the last day to donate winter wear to the Brookings Salvation Army’s Share the Warmth project. Look for the drop-off trucks at the University Mall and Faith Reformed Church. A poster on the bulletin board shows the distribution times on Thursday, October 17.
THE OFFICE will be closed on Monday October 14th for observation of Native American Day. FYI- Articles for the November Blade are due October 15th.
THE SOUTH DAKOTA PRESBYTERY MEETING will be hosted by First Presbyterian Church on October 25th. Work will range from planning meals and refreshments and facilities to setting up on the meeting day. There are sign-up sheets on the volunteer bulletin board. Please contact Donna Flint if there are any questions.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE: The Session has requested and Presbytery has authorized the formation of a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) to begin the work of searching for our next pastor. Through prayer and thoughtful consideration, please decide whether you are willing and able to serve the church in this important role. If you do not feel called to serve on the PNC, God may be calling you as a Deacon or Elder. Please contact nominating committee chair Rick Salonen to express your interest in any of these service opportunities.
THE BUFFALO RIDGE CHORALE along with the Oak Lake String Band will present their fall concert, “Home on the Range” at 4:00 Sunday, October 20th at Christ Lutheran Church, Hendricks, MN. General admission is $8.00 and children under 14 are free. Secretary Rozanne McGrath sings with this chorale.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS will be handing out Halloween candy on October 26. If you are interested in donating candy or money for candy, please read the poster on the bulletin board for more information.
