Leader: “Fools say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds…God looks upon human kind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.” (Psalm 14:1-2)
All: Let us with true hearts seek God who is ever seeking us; let us draw near and worship God.
Leader: Praise the Lord!
All: The Lord’s name be praised!
*HYMN #263 “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise”
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving God, we confess our foolishness before you; we have failed on many occasions to live as members of your Kingdom. We have failed neighbor and stranger. We have been judgmental of those around us. Help us to trust your love which confronts us with our sin in order to convert us to new life. Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us that our living may bring honor and glory to you. Amen.
