Leader: Along our Advent journey, we have lit candles for hope, peace, joy, and love. Tonight, we will light the Christ candle to celebrate the arrival of our long-expected Savior.
All: The people walking in darkness have seen a great light. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government will rest on his shoulders. He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Come Lord Jesus.
ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING Joel and Bonnie Foster, Lynn, Paige, & Gayle-- Lighting of the candle and Scripture Reading Titus 2:13-14.
*HYMN #23 “Angels We Have Heard on High”
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Holy God, you sent a star to guide the Magi to the child Jesus. We confess that we have not followed the light of your Word. We have not searched for signs of your love, or trusted your good news to be good. Forgive our doubts and renew in us a desire to seek you, that we may watch, wait, and once more hear the glad story of our Savior, Jesus Christ, the Lord. Amen.
