CALL TO WORSHIP
We come today to praise God the Creator,
who is filled with glory and power.
We worship God the Savior,
who is filled with love and compassion.
We experience God the Spirit,
who fills us with faith and joy.
Let’s worship our triune God together!
*OPENING HYMN #2 (red) Come Thou Almighty King
Come, thou almighty King, help us thy name to sing;
help us to praise:
Father, all glorious, o'er all victorious,
come, and reign over us, Ancient of Days.
Come, thou incarnate Word, merciful, mighty Lord,
our prayer attend.
Come, and thy people bless, and give thy word success:
Spirit of holiness, on us descend.
Come, holy Comforter, thy sacred witness bear
in this glad hour:
Thou who almighty art, now rule in every heart,
and ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power.
To thee, great One in Three, eternal praises be,
hence evermore!
Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see,
and to eternity love and adore!
*CALL TO CONFESSION
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit in one, we confess, that we do not live up to your call to lead a life worthy of our calling. We are slow to show humility, gentleness, and patience. We make little effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit. You are three-in-one and one-in-three; all too often we are every man and woman for ourselves. Forgive our sins and teach us anew to live as you have called. In Jesus’ name, Amen
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
*GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
And ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

SCRIPTURE READINGS
Psalm 29 A psalm of David (responsively)
1 Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks[c]
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
11 The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Mark 4: 35-41
35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” 36 And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. 37 A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 And waking up, he rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Be silent! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
SERMON 'Psalm 29: from Power to Peace' Robby Flint
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH - THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
*HYMN OF RESPONSE #815 (red) Give to the Winds Your Fears
Give to the winds thy fears,
Hope, and be undismayed;
God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears;
God shall lift up thy head.
Through waves and clouds and storms,
God gently clears the way.
Wait patiently; so shall this night
Soon end in joyous day.
Leave to God’s sovereign sway
to choose and to command.
So shalt thou, wondering, own God’s way,
how wise, how strong God’s hand!
Let us in life, in death,
thy steadfast truth declare,
and publish with our final breath
thy love and guardian care.

OFFERING OF OURSELVES AND OUR RESOURCES
*DOXOLOGY
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
*CLOSING HYMN On Our Way Rejoicing
On our way rejoicing, As we homeward move,
Hearken to our praises, O Thou God of love!
Is there grief or sadness? Thine our joy shalt be!
Is our sky beclouded? There is light with Thee.
On our way rejoicing, As we homeward move,
Hearken to our praises, O Thou God of love!
If with honest-hearted Love for God and man,
Day by day Thou find us Doing all we can,
Thou Who giv'st the seed-time Wilt give large increase,
Crown the head with blessings, Fill the heart with peace.
On our way rejoicing, As we homeward move,
Hearken to our praises, O Thou God of love!
On our way rejoicing Gladly let us go;
Conquered hath our Leader; Vanquished is our foe;
Christ without, our safety; Christ within, our joy;
Who, if we be faithful, Can our hope destroy?
On our way rejoicing, As we homeward move,
Hearken to our praises, O Thou God of love!
Unto God the Father Joyful songs we sing;
Unto God the Saviour Thankful hearts we bring;
Unto God the Spirit Bow we and adore,
On our way rejoicing Now and evermore.
On our way rejoicing, As we homeward move,
Hearken to our praises, O Thou God of love!
