WELCOME
CALL TO WORSHIP
We gather together in the presence of the Shepherd
who comforts us and sustains us
who protects and redeems us
who walks beside us in good times and bad.
This is my God for all the days of my life!
*HYMN #482 (Blue) “Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty”
Praise ye the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear; now to His temple draw near,
Join me in glad adoration!
Praise ye the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth;
Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?
Praise ye the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him!
Let the Amen sound from His people again;
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Savior, Messiah, Good Shepherd, we know You by many names, Lord. Your presence fills our lives; all that we are and all that we have comes from You. All that You do declares Your love for us. Yet when trouble comes, we stray from your path. Forgive us for not remembering that we are Your sheep, and You are our Shepherd. Forgive us when we have not listened for and heeded Your voice. Guide us back to Your path, to loving You and loving our neighbors. We ask all this, trusting in Your goodness and mercy, Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
*GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
And to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
World without end. Amen, Amen.
CHILDREN’S TIME
PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION
SCRIPTURE READING
Psalm 23 (King James Version) (read responsively)
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
SERMON “You are My Shepherd” Robby Flint, CRE
HYMN #387 (Blue) “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us”
Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our use Thy folds prepare:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
Thou hast promised to receive us, poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us, grace to cleanse, and power to free:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, early let us turn to Thee;
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, early let us turn to Thee.
Early let us seek Thy favor, early let us do Thy will;
Blessed Lord and only Savior, with Thy love our bosoms fill:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still;
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH—APOSTLES’ CREED (in unison)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYER OF DEDICATION
BLESSINGS FOR FATHERS and PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
For fathers everywhere, who have given us life and love.
Loving God, bless all fathers.
For new fathers, full of hope. For long-time fathers, full of wisdom. For the fathers yet to be, and fathers soon to be.
Eternal God, hear our prayer for all fathers.
For fathers who worry, fathers who pray, fathers who seek the best for their children.
Loving God, hear this prayer for fathers who care.
For fathers who have lost a child through death, that their faith may give them hope and that they be surrounded with comfort and love.
Comforting God, hear this prayer for our fathers that mourn.
For men who may or may not have children of their own, but act like a father to someone in need of advice, support, and love.
Nurturing God, hear this prayer for our father figures.
For step-fathers and adoptive fathers who have assumed that role with love and joy, who have loved the children of another as their own, and created a new family.
Creator God, hear this prayer for step-fathers and adoptive fathers.
For fathers who have been unable to be a source of strength, who have not responded to the needs of their children, and have not sustained their families.
Merciful God, have mercy, guide and support the struggling fathers.
For those that have shaped our lives without claim of family or kinship. For those who have taught us, guided us, shaped us, and molded us into servants of Christ our Lord.
Holy God, hear our prayer for the fathers of our faith.
God, Father of all, bless the Christian men in our lives, living and long gone, and let the example of their faith and love shine forth, as we, their sons and daughters, honor them with love and respect.

He will take care of you, God will take care of you.
Thro’ days of toil when heart doth fail, God will take care of you.
