*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Merciful God, we confess that we have tried to hide from you, for we have done wrong.  We have lived for ourselves, and apart from you.  We have turned from our neighbors and refused to bear the burdens of others.  We have ignored the pain of the world, and passed by the hungry, the poor, and the oppressed.  In your great mercy forgive our sins and free us from selfishness that we may choose your will and obey your commandments; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Lord, for this joy, we give you thanks.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE: The Session has requested and Presbytery has authorized the formation of a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) to begin the work of searching for our next pastor.  Through prayer and thoughtful consideration, please decide whether you are willing and able to serve the church in this important role.  If you do not feel called to serve on the PNC, God may be calling you as a Deacon or Elder.  Please contact nominating committee chair Rick Salonen to express your interest in any of these service opportunities.

SUNDAY SCHOOL will start at its regular time of 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 15.

TROOP 14’S SCOUT TRAILER is in need of a new home.  For the past years, Ramsdell's has graciously allowed us to store the trailer indoors at their facility when not in use.  However, they have asked us to find a new storage home for it.  Please contact Alan Young if you have any suggestions - the trailer needs to be out of Ramsdell's by September 15.

HARVEST TABLE: First Presbyterian Church is serving the Harvest Table on Monday, September 16, with the Men’s Brotherhood cooking.  Sign-up sheets are on the volunteer bulletin board for helpers and also who can bring bars. We anticipate the cost will be approximately $500 and would request your support of this project.  Thank you!

THE SOUTH DAKOTA PRESBYTERY MEETING will be hosted by First Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 25th.  Session is requesting an ad-hoc committee to plan and carry out our part of the meeting.  Work will range from planning meals and refreshments and facilities to setting up on the meeting day. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact Donna Flint.
